VIRGIN GORDA BEACHES: Absolutely nowhere compares to the fantastic boulder-covered beaches of Virgin Gorda’s Baths, which is probably the best-known scenic area of the British Virgin Islands’ “Nature’s Little Secrets”. These immense granite boulders, formed eons ago by cooling magma, are jumbled atop pristine beaches, forming unique caves, tunnels, tidal pools and grottos. The visual effect of these massive boulders against the bright turquoise of the Caribbean sea is nothing less than stunning.
You’ll start in Spring Bay, hiking along the coast and over the rocks to Valley Trunk Bay. Don’t be surprised as you wade into the clear water up to neck-deep! Then turn around and do the same route on the way back from the opposite perspective. You’ll also do paths between beaches full of cacti and other tropical plants, lizards and even a snake.
A stroll on idyllic Savannah Bay is relaxing, but you’ll soon be back into some serious stepping on the treadmill or elliptical machine as you explore Devil’s Bay and a grand finale through The Baths National Park. 61 minutes long, including maps.
