Central Europe
Walk through 9 locations in 6 nations in 46 minutes! Begin in Vicenza, Italy, marveling at architecture of Andrea Palladio. This is the same architect that built the highlights of nearby Venice. Then hike along a bike-path next to the famous “Chain” bridge over the Danube River connecting Buda and Pest, Hungary. Next, ramble through streets of Nordlingen, Dinkelbuhl and Rothenburg, walled medieval towns on Germany’s Romantic Road. All three boast many examples of cross-timbered shops, fine townhouses and inns among gothic cathedrals and impressive central squares.
The gorgeous buildings surrounding Banska Bystrica’s Slovak National Uprising Square (Slovakia) are well-worth viewing, as are the unusual rock fountain and the Soviet obelisk.
Marianske Lazne in the Czech Republic is an art-nouveau masterpiece with its grand arcade, parks and singing fountain. However crowded, Prague’s fantastic old buildings are also a must-see. A short stroll in Durnstein, Austria, a village on The Danube river, is interesting and the marvelous inner city of Vienna is also explored.
Compared to previous Hike-O-Vision’s, this is undeniably more about sightseeing and less strict about the forward-motion workout, but is a nice compliment to the Bike-O-Vision’s 2016 European cycling videos.
