Eastern Shore of Virginia
Neighboring Chincoteague and Assateague islands are known for their celebrated yearly crossing of the wild ponies, inspiring authors, painters and now us! You’ll see these beauties playing on deserted Atlantic beaches and grazing in their marsh habitat between cycling stretches.
Trails through this boggy beauty will also include watching random local bird life such as osprey, ibis, egrets and even a swimming muskrat. Also accompanying this will be the waterfront town of Chincoteague on the fantastic Chesapeake Bay.
The nearby town of Onancock has an old-fashioned charm not found many places, enhanced by its actual history -it was chartered in 1565! Cape Charles is another village that represents the Eastern Shore with its cute-as-buttons vacation homes and sleepy off-season downtown.
There are no elevation changes in this video, but plenty of new sights in our foray along the east coast.
Enjoyable cycling and exploration for an hour.
