Then reach the summit and swoop down through majestic fir, madrone and oak forests to the pristine, foggy coast.
The next leg from Fort Ross to the Russian river mouth at Jenner offers fantastic ocean views from dizzying heights and is truly unforgettable. Continuing along the Sonoma County coast you swerve to Salmon Creek with ever-changing Pacific panoramas.
This ride could be done in two half-hour sessions or a one-hour double-feature.
