Zion National Park could easily occupy an avid hiker for a solid week or more to explore its astounding, rugged scenic landscapes. We condensed it into three different paths, to give the essence of it, plus additional photography of the park.
First you will do the entry path to the famous narrows next to the rushing Virgin River. Its cool layers of shadow within towering red canyon walls will thrill the imagination.
Next is Angels Landing, often noted as one of the most dangerous climbs in the U.S. National Parks but also one of the most famous for its rewarding views from the top. You will start in the valley, ascend up ledges of Walter’s Wiggles, over narrow rock causeways and literally climb up the final ascent to the peak.
The final cool-down walk is on a sage-lined horse trail under the dramatic peaks, aptly named Court of the Patriarchs. Filmed on a misty morning between rain, it evokes a contemplative mood. 48 minutes of hiking with maps and natural, ambient sound.
