Saguaro and Chiricahua, Arizona
Immerse yourself in southwestern American beauty with two least-visited recreation areas while working out in Saguaro National Park and Chiricahua National Monument, both near Tucson, Arizona. Biking through a forest of tall cacti in Saguaro you'll marvel at the endless variations of their spiky forms, filmed in full spring bloom after a very wet winter. After a steep climb over Gates Pass you'll see even more variations of high desert scenes and beautiful cacti, including bright purple ones with stunning yellow flowers.
Chiricahua National Monument is named after the Apache tribe that existed here for unknown centuries and eventually came to odds with the expanding Saguaro and Chiricahua, Arizona United States. Its not surprising that their fierce warriors were known to hide among the many astounding rock spires covering the area. Views from the road very impressive indeed as you look up at the towering geologic features!
Then as you surmount 7,000 foot Massai Point you'll be looking down from those same formidable heights. 60 minutes long.
